When we reduce our waste stream, everyone's a winner!
This program is a friendly, waste-reduction competition where you are asked to weigh a week’s worth of trash, determine how much and what you are throwing away, and then find ways to reduce trash and increase recycling over a four-week period!
Paying attention to what you throw away and weekly measuring gives you immediate feedback and raises awareness of opportunities to change your habits. In the process, households typically discover that they can recycle more, compost, and make better decisions about what they buy.
In the end, reducing waste and increasing recycling benefits you, your community, the environment and the economy!
